Derwent Inktense blocks are a unique, format of the popular Inktense line, offering bold, water-soluble pigment in a versatile block. Known for their intense, ink-like colour payoff, these blocks can be used both dry and wet, unlocking vibrant, expressive possibilities. When activated with water, the colours deepen and, once dry, become permanent. You can use them as a block or use a brush to apply onto your project.
Inktense block are great for mixed media applications on surfaces like paper, canvas, and fabric.
Once dry the colour is fixed and can be worked over the top of it.
Due to its permanent feature it’s great for using on fabric such as silk and cotton. (You must make sure that all the pigment has been dissolved in the water to make it permanent. Any dry pigment will be washed out if further water is applied.)
