Derwent Inktense pencils are versatile, water-soluble pencils known for their vibrant, ink-like pigments. When dry, they function like traditional coloured pencils, but when activated with water, they transform into intense, vivid ink that becomes permanent once dry.
Once dry the colour is fixed and can be worked over the top of it.
Due to its permanent feature it’s great for using on fabric such as silk and cotton. (You must make sure that all the pigment has been dissolved in the water to make it permanent. Any dry pigment will be washed out if further water is applied.)
These pencils have a round 8mm barrel with a 4mm core.
